Crier named Crown Finalist by Columbia Scholastic Press Association

For the first time since 2019, Crier, the school newspaper, was recognized as a Crown Finalist by Columbia Scholastic Press Association for its Crown Awards. Student publications are selected based on overall excellence. Final results are set to be announced in March, where all finalists will be awarded a Gold Crown or a Silver Crown. A virtual award ceremony will be held in lieu of an in-person convention due to covid.
“I was so happy I was jumping up and down,” Ms. Sarah-Anne Lanman, publications adviser, said. “It’s a tangible thing you could hold and say, ‘We did a good job,’ especially during such a hard year.”
