Club leaders Gage Hoekstra, Crier Page Editor, Jacob Kats, and Daniel Nozick, juniors, discuss Utilitarianism and Deontology. “I really think students are more interested and passionate about learning than they’re often giving credit for,” Gage, said. “It’s incredible to see so many people willing to spend their time having these sorts of conversations, and I really hope that some of the ideas we present will stick with people and impact the way they think about the world and themselves.”

COOKING IN CLASS In Mrs. Katy Waldrop’s 5th hour Culinary Arts class, Coleman Berg, senior, preps a pan by spreading olive oil with a brush for his lasagna. “More often than not, they are surprised they really like what they thought they wouldn’t,” Mrs. Waldrop said. “I enjoy seeing the pride students feel when they ask to take a picture of their creation to show their family.”

DETERMINATION Playing the vibraphone in the pit, Shail Patel, freshmen, stays in time requiring major focus. Band has been performing virtually due to COVID-19 regulations, which have restricted their ability to perform inperson. “The virtual competition was like a real competition because there were still judges that viewed your performance in real time,” Shail said, “But it felt a little more relaxed than a real competition.”

OVER THE NET Emily Banaszek, senior, jumps to hit a slide set and get the kill. The girls celebrated the point and the 3 set victory over Penn. Regionals are at LaPorte High School this Saturday. “I knew I had to get around the block to be able to get the kill, so i took the opportunity when i saw it.”
