The Dean of students and even students themselves when asked their opinion on what they want to do after college or even after high school. “Who really knows what they want to do after school,” people are thinking about it.

Not all students seem to know what they would like to do after college.

I would guess that one out of ten teens really know what they would like to do. I based this number on conversations I have with teens in my work as an educator,” Mrs. Helen Fuller, dean of students, said.

According to a survey, created by all about careers, 44% of students don’t know what they want to do after graduation – Concrete (concrete-online.co.uk) asked students what they want to do after school. 44% answered ‘I don’t know’ or ‘I’m not sure.’

“After high school I wanna go to college and all I know is that my major is going to be something in the arts,” Gracelynn Schutter, freshman, said.

91%, this is from a different source of high schoolers have a general idea of what they would like to do after school. Some have even given a whole story for why they want to do that specific job.

“I want to go to a performing arts college,” Clara Dumaresq, sophomore, said. “After that I plan on becoming an actress, at first I wanted to be a vet, but I realized that it would take a lot of work.”

Students themselves think that others don’t know what to do with their life.

“Probably only 45% know what they would like to do after college,” Clara said. “ Yes, I believe it is okay to be undecided on what you want to do with your life. Some adults don’t even know what they want to do.”
