Choir students have taken home numerous awards this year. At the 2022 ISSMA District Vocal Piano Solo and Ensemble Festival, many students received a Gold Award in Group I and are advancing to the next level: ISSMA State Vocal/Piano Solo and Ensemble Contest Feb. 19. Marisa Walsh, senior, and juniors Anagha Kodukula and Elliot McKeever will perform as auditioned members in the 2022 Midwestern American Choral Directors Association SATB Honor Choir at the Harris Theatre in Chicago. This has provided a major opportunity for students to perform, as students were chosen from choirs throughout the midwest.

“It’s a once in a lifetime offer,” Anagha Kodukula, junior, said. “I’m really excited for this opportunity and we get to sing with hundreds of other kids…I’m super proud of our choir and how far we’ve come. It’s definitely been a tough year with covid and everything, and I think we just need to keep our morale up high and you know, kill it. Finish off strong.”
