With a record of 12-8, the Varsity girls’ basketball team prepares to take on their opponents in the sectional games coming up, starting on February 4-8 at Crown Point High School. With a great season so far, the team hopes to fulfill their goal and make it to regionals on February 15th. Focusing on working together in practice is making a big difference on the court. Junior Igbo Odeluga emphasizes the team’s goal to work together.
“We need to stress playing together as a unit, because that always makes a big difference in a lot of our games,” junior Igbo Odeluga said.
Igbo reflects on the importance of the student bodies’ support at these games that helps get them excited and hyped to play.
“I love when the band shows up. That always gets me hyped, “ Odeluga said, “If the band’s there, then I know this is going to be a fun game.”
Though the girl’s basketball team has been doing well they know that these sectional games won’t be easy and that they have to work hard to earn a win.
“We don’t expect anything, but we work,” Odeluga said. “We have to earn it.”
