With the upcoming election for the next president, students have the opportunity to think and analyze what politics are truly about. But what can influence on which side they may take when they are able to vote.
Across the globe, politics play an important role among all countries, but what are some ways that we are influenced by our ideas and beliefs? Family can play quite a critical role in politics in ways more than we realize. The way we are raised by our parents or guardians can influence not only how we may act, but also on how we may think. They share their ideologies and beliefs in politics as their children grow up. A child raised in a family of full-leftists may grow up to follow the ideas of a leftist. On the contrary, a child raised in a family of full-rightists may grow up to follow the ideas of a rightist.
There are more factors that can differentiate how people look at politics. Families may be the most common factor, however it doesn’t always follow through with everyone in the family. For example, I follow the ideas of my parents, but my siblings follow a different idea of how they look at the politicians. My parents have mostly influenced me to look for the morals and values of the political candidates rather than the parties themselves. I was mostly influenced by my family to follow the same ideology as well and am less biased towards either party. My siblings are slightly less “open-minded”, but they are slightly younger and still understanding the parties. They mostly see how Trump and Kamala are shown on mostly TV channels or social media.
