Crier, Paragon win IHSPA Hoosier Star award for best in Indiana

October 2, 2020

Paragon, the MHS yearbook, and Crier have been honored with Hoosier Star awards from the Indiana High School Press Association. These are awarded to last year’s publications, with Lexi Lindenmayer, class of ’20, editing the Crier and Demetrios Fotopoulos, senior, editing the 2020 Paragon.

The Hoosier Star awards are given to the publications that represent the best of high school media in Indiana. There is a detailed critique that goes into determining the finalists, and then the winners of this award use these critiques to help the improve their publications, while also listening to readers to document real life at the high school.

“These awards represent hours of work from the staffs,” said Ms. Sarah-Anne Lanman, publications adviser. “I am immensely proud of my students and how they produce professional media, with it being especially hard for them to complete everything last spring during the pandemic.”
